John Griffiths became the Society’s Conductor in 1994. John studied singing at Huddersfield College of Music and gained a Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Bretton College. During his musical career he has been Head of Music and Drama in Castleford and Music Advisor to Bradford Education Authority.

He has worked with junior, intermediate and senior orchestras and has taught double bass across the area as well as conducting a number of choirs. John has taken the choir from strength to strength and under his leadership the choir has performed a wide variety of music including Rutter, Abba, Queen, Handel, Haydn and the Beatles. The last two years have seen John composing music for the choir to perform.

Claire Burden became the Society’s Accompanist in 2007.  She studied Music Performance at Huddersfield University, majoring in the organ.  She is organist at Brotherton and Ferrybridge churches and is a private music tutor.  She also accompanies Castleford Male Voice Choir.
