Marjorie Stoker became President of the Castleford Choral Society in 2000, having been the Society's Conductor for 10 years from 1982. She is well-known in the area as a talented singer, conductor, pianist, organist and singing teacher.

The photograph shows her receiving the 2007 DIVA (Development Initiative for Voluntary Arts) award for lifetime achievement for service to music and the arts.
